About Baxter:
A new wave of research investigate the social side of artificial intelligence, and Baxter is one of the new-thinking experiments to make humans socialize with robots. Baxter is a so-called “intelligent robot” that exhibits a remarkable degree of common sense, and can expand and refine its capabilities as time passes. The robot is 3-foot tall, have two-arms and an animated face. The RAPP Lap crew have spent countless hours on programming the robot to perform new tasks that could be used for the social interaction with humans.
The RAPP Lab is an exploratory study on human robotic interaction. The project is a collaboration between the Robotics Lab on the Human Centered Technology Canter at the University of Canberra, Aalborg University in Denmark and Robological. In a series of workshops, fields of aesthetics, ethics, psychology and technologies of human robot interaction will be explored.
