Welcome to the very first post on Baxter’s journey at the University of Canberra. Dr. Herath and the engineering team are attempting to promote robotics, artificial intelligence and the possibility of collaboration between humans and robots in our every day lives. The team have been working extremely hard on the project and it seems that all their efforts are finally paying off.

Ambitious students working hard on Baxter.

Dr. Herath and the Engineering team have announced their debut event of Baxter at the University of Canberra on the 23rd of September. The team are working with two amazing artists who will be performing at the event. If you are interested in learning more, head over to our events section of the blog for full details and links to the RSVP site.

Dr. Herath and the engineering team have formed an alliance with the students from the Global

unit in order to promote the event and Baxter even further. The students have conducted meetings with Dr. Herath and the engineering team in order to determine what the core goals for the project are. Within these meetings, the students got their first look at Baxter, and challenged the artificially intelligent robot to a game of Tic-Tac-Toe. <image from Shakila>

After learning about the team, and Baxter, the students went on their promotional campaign, setting up Instagram and Facebook accounts and spreading the Baxter brand through word of mouth. Further more, the team have been reaching out to external sources in an attempt to further promote the brand.

An ambitious group of students mixed with an extremely bright team of engineers is fearsome fusion for all to watch out for.
